Miriam Jane Zwiegel, 89, passed away Saturday July 31, 2010 in Grove, Oklahoma. Born February 13, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri to Herman and Coral Schafer.

In 1942 Miriam was united in marriage to Frank J. Zwiegel Jr. in Savannah, MO. She was a Registered Nurse in the Kansas City area after graduating from the St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1942.

Miriam was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Grove, Oklahoma. She was active in United Methodist Women’s organization and a member of the Thomas class.

Survivors include: three sons, Kenneth Zwiegel and his wife Donna of Grove, OK, William Zwiegel and his wife Patti of Grove, OK, and Jon Zwiegel and his wife Janice of Kearney, Mo.; a daughter, Michelle Batilla of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Miriam was preceded in death by her husband Frank J. Zwiegel, daughter Karen Jane Dunn, son-in-law J. Bruce Dunn, mother Coral, father Herman, and brother William.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to First United Methodist Church Memorial Garden Fund.
Visitation will be held at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, 711 S. Main, Grove, OK. Monday, August 2nd 6-8 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday August 3rd at First United Methodist Church, 1005 Leisure Road, Grove, Ok.

Internment will be Wednesday, August 4th at 1 pm at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park, KS.
