Obituary for Betty Earnestine Nesselrode (Terry Denyer)

Betty Earnestine Nesselrode (Terry Denyer)
ARNOLD MOORE & NEEKAMP FUNERAL HOME, BARTLESVILLE, OK (918) 336-5225 -

Betty Earnestine Terry Denyer Nesselrode, 92, passed away peacefully in hospital surrounded by her children January 3, 2018.

Born in Drumright January 5, 1925, to Ernest and Ella Trimble Terry, Betty grew up, with sisters Jean, Laura Mae, and Ginger, in a series of Gulf Oil camps in which Ernest worked. After attending high school in Seminole, Betty completed nursing school, becoming a Registered Nurse. She earned a BS from the University of Tulsa in 1951.

While both were in training in Oklahoma City, she met physician and surgeon Hillard Earl Denyer who began private practice in Bartlesville in 1947. They married in 1952. Betty bore and raised Michael Hilliard, Laura Terry, and Mark Thomas Denyer.

Dr. Denyer passed in 1983. Betty in 1987 married Clifford Calvin Nesselrode of Kansas City. They established a new home in Bartlesville and generally had a ball together. After Clifford became infirm in advanced age, Betty continued to care for him. He preceded her in death in 2011.

When Betty too was enfeebled by age, she moved to Green Country Village in Bartlesville where she received constant attention from son Mark, his wife Kerry, and their children, who resided locally.

Betty's life is celebrated at her passing by those who survive her, including her three children, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many, many friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials in Betty’s name can be sent to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 210 E. 9th St., Bartlesville, OK 74003

Services for Betty will be held on Monday, January 8, in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Burial in Memorial Park will follow the service.
