Obituary for Gerald (Jerry) Irving Young

Luginbuel Funeral Home Vinita, 918 – 256 -5555…….Gerald (Jerry) Irving Young passed away September 24, 2017. He was born August 5, 1942 in Butler New Jersey the son of Louis Gerald Young and Bertha (Meade) Young. Jerry was raised and worked in Butler, New Jersey until he moved to Oklahoma in the 60’s. He was a warehouse foreman for a fiberglass plant in the chemical manufacturing industry. He enjoyed traditional bow hunting, fishing, nature and the outdoors. Jerry was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of Vinita.
He was preceded by his parents.
Jerry’s survivors include the mother of his children Doroty Couturier, his son Gerald (Jerry) Young and wife Donna of Broken Arrow, a daughter DeeAnn Wooldridge and husband Carey of Jefferson City, Missouri; five grandchildren Justin, Jessie and Jamie Young, Lauren Slater and Brandon McIntosh; one great-grandchild Rico Ozinga; his sister Karen Brunson and husband Gerald of Owasso and a brother Steve Young of Bixby.
The funeral service will be Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 10:00 am at First Free Will Baptist Church in Vinita will Pastor Justin Turner officiating. A reception will be held following the service at the Church fellowship hall.
Interment will be in Spavinaw-Strang Cemtery. Arrangements by Luginbuel Funeral Home Vinita. On-line condolences may be submitted to www.honoringmemories.com
