Alyce Jean  Zini
Alyce Jean Zini, age 84, of North Little Rock, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014 in Grove, Oklahoma after a six year battle with bone cancer. She was born December 11, 1929 to J. Bryan Sims and Marie McCoy Sims. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, J. Bryan Sims, Jr. and close cousins, Dale McCoy, Jack McCoy and Eloise McCoy Archer.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Genora Tony Zini; sons, Mark A. Zini and his wife Alice of Overland Park, Kansas, Kelly W. Zini and his wife Karen of Grove Oklahoma; a daughter, Christine E. Zini of Fayetteville, AR; four grandchildren, Mitchell A. Yerby, John-Mark Zini, Dylan H. Zini, M.D. and Jacquelyn M. Bunton; and other nieces and nephews.

Alyce Jean was a loving wife, mother and friend who had a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior. She loved to laugh and enjoyed sharing jokes. She is remembered by those who knew her as a person who brought much joy and laughter into their lives. She graduated from Little Rock High School, Little Rock Jr. College and then from the University of Arkansas and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She taught school in Brooklyn, AR before her first child was born. She devoted her life to her family and did not return to work until after her last child left home. She enjoyed bridge, golf and camping and was a member of Progressive League, multiple Bridge clubs, Whispering Pines Travel, Family Motor Coach and Campers on Mission. She had a heart of service and taught Sunday school at church and at nursing homes, recorded the Bible for the blind, and volunteered at Meals on Wheels. She was a faithful member of Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock, AR and Grove First Baptist Church in Grove, Ok.

The family would like to thank Grandwood Assisted Living, L.C. and Staff, ONHL Hospice and Staff. Special thanks to caregivers Roxanne Fanning, Spenser Woods and Liz Whurle.

Memorial service will be 11:00a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Grove First Baptist Church in Grove, Oklahoma. Pastor Jim Paslay officiating.

Memorial service will also be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Park Hill Baptist Church, North Little Rock, Arkansas. Pastor Luke Flesher officiating.
