Funeral services for Dorothy Jean Sellars will be held on Monday, June 25, at 2:00 P.M. at the Benjamin Funeral Home in Nowata, Oklahoma. Pastor Wendall Abbott will be the officiant. Interment will follow at the Ball Cemetery.

Dorothy Jean Sellars, age 90 (resident of Bartlesville and Bernice), passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Dorothy was born September 15, 1927 in Ponca City, OK. She was the daughter of Ursa Rankin Paisley and Sara Alvin “Allie” (Romary) Paisley. The family moved to Delaware, Oklahoma in Dorothy ’s early years where she received her education.

Dorothy and Newton John Sellars were united in marriage in Anchorage, Alaska on October 7, 1945. Mr. Sellars was drafted into the U.S. Army; after his service they moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They both began their careers with Phillip 66 and later retired from there.
Dorothy loved spending time with family and friends, fishing, playing cards, and dominos. In her younger years, she spent a lot of time on the lake and skiing. Dorothy was a very caring person with a big heart; she had unconditional love for her grandchildren! She will be enormously missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by one daughter; Joyce Hollister and Gene of Nowata, OK; one brother, Arthur “Bud” Paisley of Delaware, OK; three grandchildren, Pam Pearsall, and Donnie of Adair, OK; Chris Tole of Amarillo, TX; Jason Pierce and Amanda of Delaware, OK; nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Newton John Sellars; four brothers and three sisters.
