Obituary for George Andrew Walker

Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, OK (918) 256-5555......George Andrew Walker passed away on Monday, April 29, 2019 following a short bout with cancer. George was born February 12, 1941. He was the ninth child of a family of eleven children born to Charles Cary and Luella Pearl Walker. George attended school at Shanahan through the eighth grade, then attended White Oak Consolidated School for his high school years, graduating there with the class of 1959. George was a Sargent with the National Guard for 6 years. He married Helen Hughes Fiedler on January 22, 1965, to this union a daughter Shanny was born November 20, 1968. George was also a loving father to Helen’s children, Randy and David Fiedler. Helen succumbed to cancer November 17, 2010.
George was a self-employed heavy equipment operator much of his lifetime. Many of the places he worked thru his lifetime were, Dick Abbott Bodyshop, Turnpike Conoco, Skel-Gas, Empire Gas, George’s Garage and Body Shop, Brakefield Coal Company and ranching until he retired.
George was preceded by two sisters, Betty Luella Weaver-Ewing and Margaret Ann Hayes, four brothers, Charles Francis Walker, Billy Lewis Walker, Thomas Leroy Walker and Ronald Dean Walker.
Survivors include daughter Shanny Weaver and husband Gary; son Randy Fiedler and wife Kim; grandchildren, Karlee Housman, T’Don Marquis, Cody and Michele Marquis, Amber Smith, Lindsey Darr; great grandchildren, Kamden and Brylee Marquis, Rowdy and Ruger McVay; sisters, Alyce Cordray-Green, Maxine Beisley and husband Willard of Vinita, Dorothy Hanna of Cleora and brother Donald Gene Walker.
A visitation will be in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita, OK Wednesday May 1, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Services will be held at 10:00am Thursday, May 2, 2019 in the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, Vinita, OK with Pastor Leland Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow at Timpson Chapel Cemetery.
