Wayne V. Purdham, 78 year old resident of Grove, passed away February 5, 2019.
Wayne was born on April 1, 1940 in Stanley Virginia. He was the son of Homer V. Purdham and Esta (Painter) Purdham-Breeden. Wayne proudly served in the United States Army. Wayne was united in marriage to Madelon Rowden on March 23, 1960. Wayne was a very hard working and loving husband, father and grandfather. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for over 42 years, helping farmers and others with all their equipment. Wayne enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Gaylee Purdham, one sister and one brother. He is survived by his wife Madelon of the home, two children; Terry Purdham and Teresa Macfee and three sisters. Wayne was blessed with six grandchildren; Taylor and Zachary Macfee, Dustin, Shane, and Wayne Purdham and Meagan Caswell, and eight great grandchildren; Mason, Madelon, Jordan, Austin, Macey, Railie, Bella, and Allie.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Seneca West Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Grove Veterans Ritual Team. Online condolences can be made by viewing Wayne’s Book of Memories at www.honoringmemories.com or on the Worley Facebook page.
