Obituary for Theresa M LaRosa

Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home - Grove - 918-786-2261......

Theresa M LaRosa, 101 year old Grove resident, passed away Monday, January 21, 2019. Theresa was born in Sturges, MI on April 23, 1917 to Frank and Mary Albano. Theresa grew up very poor and although she never had much, she would always share what she had. After her father died Theresa quit school to support her mother and siblings. During WWII she did her part working at an ammunitions plant and as a seamstress. She also worked at Shenango China in New Castle, PA. She loved helping others, feeding everyone, and was very generous to her family and friends. One of her famous sayings was “Quitters never win” and Theresa was definitely not a quitter.
Theresa came from an Italian background and could fluently speak Italian. In fact that was the only language she knew until grade school. She claimed eating spaghetti was the reason she looked so young for her age.
Survivors include her daughter Linda Mash and husband John of Grove, grandchildren: Michael Mash, Sr. and wife Jean and John D. Mash, Jr., great grandchildren: Michael Mash, Jr., Vincent Mash, Madelyn Mash, and JD Mash III. She is preceded in death by her husband Michael LaRosa, sisters Josephine Webb, Leona Capozza, Angeline Loccisano, and Isabelle Apicelli, brothers: Louis Albano, Leonard Albano, Lawrence Pisano, and Joseph Pisano.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Chapel in Grove with the rosary starting at 6.
