Condolence: I was so sorry to learn of LaWanna’s passing. I knew LaWanna, Sam and their daughter, Lora years ago when I acted as their teenage babysitter and did clerical work for Sam when he sold bronzed baby shoes. LaWanna was always fun to be around and had a great wit. She was always kind and generous as well. After we moved away and I went away to college, I lost touch with the Daileys. In recent years, through Facebook, I was able to reconnect with Lawanna, having lunch before she moved to Oklahoma. I’m so glad I had that opportunity. To Sam and Lora, I’m sure your loss is great. May God bless you and provide comfort to you through your family and friends.

Condolence: LaWanna and I were born on the same day and in the same year. She was the one person whose birthday I would never forget. We would call or email each other every year laughing and wishing each other a "Happy Birthday". We not only shared the same birth date but, our kids played softball together when they were young, spent time at the lake together when she and Sam bought our lake house, and many other fond memories of a loving, happy and joy filled friend. God bless your soul LaWanna, may He lift you up and shine His light on you for all eternity. On July 17th, I will once again think of you and "our" birthdays. Lynda Burgman

Condolence: When we were young, Lora and I played softball together on a team coached by my dad and Sam. We grew very close to the Dailey family and even became neighbors. LaWanna was always a friend to my parents', but eventually, I grew up--and she became a friend to me. Of course, we all admired her wit, but I will always remember how sincerely kind she was--she said nice things to me, she was proud of me, and she told me often. She was a loyal friend to all of us here in St. Louis. Although she was always worried she was intruding, it never felt that way to us--she was part of our family! I regret our friendship was affected by the distance between Missouri and Oklahoma. I'm grateful Facebook kept us connected, but I'll miss all her fun posts and her words of encouragement. I will treasure my memories of LaWanna forever.
