Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma, 918-786-2261. Boyd “Russell” Banning, 73 year old resident of Afton, Oklahoma passed away in his sleep on May 13, 2018.

Russell was born on January 10, 1945 in Independence, Kansas. He was the son of Boyd and Ada (Kimzey) Banning. Russell worked in the trucking industry for over 40 years, traveling all over the United States. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, old western movies, and having a few beers with his buddies at the lake.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Kitty who just passed in January. He is survived by his two sons, Danny Banning and his fiancé Kim Bowin of Cleora, Oklahoma; Dennis Banning and his wife Sharon of Parsons, Kansas; his daughter Peggy Beisly and her husband Bryce of Neodesha, Kansas; and his brother Roger Banning of Oswego, Kansas. Russell was blessed with three grandchildren; Trenton Banning, Brice Long and Kandra Smith; and seven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 18, 2018 at Neodesha City Cemetery with Mr. Jake Allen officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
