Obituary for Bruce Owen Dye Sr.

Bruce Owen Dye Sr., age 71 and longtime resident of Nowata, Oklahoma, passed away at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma Tuesday, December 11, 2018.

Bruce Owen Dye Sr. was born November 27, 1947 in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. He was the son of Rex Dye and Doris Jean (Ward) Dye. Bruce received his education from Alluwe High School.
Bruce volunteered to join the U.S. Air Force on January 3, 1968 and was stationed in Tacoma, WA. He was an airman, an aircraft engine mechanic, an airplane mechanic and was honorably discharged in 1971.
Bruce retired in 2007 from the U.S. Government Defense Department where he was a quality control supervisor.

He was very talented, he could fix anything and was an outstanding man. He had a passion for fly fishing and automobiles and he loved restoring his Ford Galaxy. He was always busy doing something, whether it was tinkering with his automobiles, fishing, collecting ancient artifacts, climbing a volcano or spending time with his family and friends. He was a Ford man all the way. He loved traveling with his brother to the Four-Corner Region.

Bruce is survived by his two children; Eva James and husband Heath of Caney, KS, Bruce Dye Jr. and wife Erin of Hilliard, OH, four brothers; Brian Dye wife Maudie of Nowata, OK, Rex Dye Jr. wife Monica of Hanson, KY, Pete Chair and wife Lisa of Stillwell, OK, five sisters; Gaynia (Chair) Jones and husband Paul of Stillwell, OK, Janice (Dye) Medina and husband Patrick of Bartlesville, OK, Victoria (Dye) Boyd of Nowata, OK, six grandchildren; Griffey, Brady, Avery and Case Dye, Cody Standridge, Zachary James, one great grandchild; Landon Standridge and many other relatives and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Rex Dye and Doris Jean (Ward) Dye-Chair, one brother; Randy Dye, one sister; Phyllis Kern and one great grandchild; Brentley Standridge.
Bruce will be missed by all who knew him.
