Les Dunavant, a 73 year old Grand Lake resident, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Saint Francis Hospital, Tulsa, OK. He was born April 10, 1945 in Wichita, KS to Dale and Francis (Geitgey) Dunavant. Les graduated from Jet High School and continued his education at Oklahoma State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. He joined the U.S. Army and served his country proudly. Les enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and traveling. Les retired from Claire’s in 1997 where he served as President & COO. During his tenure at Claire’s, he increased his company holdings from 300 stores to 3,500 worldwide. In May 2010 he married the love of his life, Cindy. Les served on the Board of Governors for Oklahoma State University for several years. He was a very kind and generous man. Les will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceding Mr. Dunavant in death are his parents. Survivors include his wife, Cindy, of the home. His son Jay Ramer (Ann) and three grandchildren Bailey, Davis, and Drew of Harrah, OK and a host of other friends.
