Bobby Joe Mowles, 81 year old resident of Jay, Oklahoma, passed away on November 2, 2018 in Joplin, Missouri.

Bobby was born on October 5, 1937 in Lindsey, Oklahoma. He was the son of John P. Mowles and Minnie (Eddings) Mowles. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Faith Hamburger on June 2, 1956. She preceded him in death in July of 2010. Firefighting was Bobby’s life; he was a Professor at Oklahoma State University for many years, in Fire Service Training. Chief Bobby Mowles retired from the Oklahoma City Fire Department.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his siblings. He leaves behind his two sons, Bobby J. Mowles, Jr., and Darrel R. Mowels, three grandchildren Kaitlan Mowles-Terry, Jeremy Mowles and Chris Hoaglin, and four great grandchildren Rhett Hoaglin, Brolly, Cylus and Harleen Terry.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Duffield Cemetery with Pastor Marie Fisher officiating. Online condolences can be left at www.honoringmemories.com or on the Worley-Luginbuel Facebook page.
