Luginbuel Funeral Home - Vinita, Oklahoma - Long time Vinita businessman, L.A. Larson passed away in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 8, 2018. He was born January 3, 1927 in Elsmore, Kansas to Ernest and Lisel (McClung) Larson. The family moved to Vinita, Ok. where he graduated from Vinita High School. He met and married Vauda Belle Newman and they lived in Vinita until her death in 1990.
He worked for the KATY Railroad and the US Post Office and in 1970 became a Farmers Insurance Group Agent establishing the Larson Agency in Vinita. A few years later he became a Real Estate Broker and added Larson Real Estate to his business. L.A. retired in 2002.
On October 9, 1992 he married Louise Wright – Kirberger. They made their home on Monkey Island on Grand Lake and later moved to Bixby Oklahoma in 2008.
L.A. enjoyed traveling and was a member of Vinita Masonic Lodge #5,
L.A. was a very kind man and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Preceding Mr. Larson in death are his parents, Ernest and Lisel Larson; a wife, Vauda Bell Larson; a son, Eddie Larson; three brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Wright Kirberger-Larson of the home in Bixby; a daughter, Shelly Colvin and husband Ronnie of Vinita; a daughter in law, Martha Larson of Bernice, step children, Kristy Binney and husband Charles of Leonard, Brad Kirberger of Bixby, Bobby Kirberger of Bartlesville.; grandchildren, Michael Larson (Robin) of Norman, Brian Colvin (Emily) of Vinita, Chris Colvin (Melisa) of Springfield, Mo., Ryan Binney (Lesley) of Bixby, Elliott Binney (Brittany) of Bixby, Jonathan Binney (Elizabeth) of Bixby, Alicia Kirberger of Tulsa, Ben Kirberger of Chicago, Il.; 16 great grandchildren; many other relatives and a host of friends.
A private family memorial service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Mr. Larson’s burial site at Rolston Cemetery on Monkey Island on Grand Lake.
