Benjamin Funeral Service Nowata, Oklahoma (918)273-2700***Irene Fay (Briggle) Hughes, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma surrounded by her family. She was born February 22, 1942 in Nowata, Oklahoma to George “Howdy” Briggle and Bonnie Faye (Coonfield) Briggle. She was a cook at the local restaurant The Bliss for 22 years. Irene attended and graduated from Nowata Public Schools. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Irene is survived by her sons; George Hughes and wife Geri of Cherryvale, Ks, Dennis Hughes of Nowata, OK; one brother Paul Coonfield of Amarillo, TX; eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Irene is preceded in death by her companion Paul Johnson, her parents George and Bonnie and one daughter.
