Ethel Jawan (Eve) Covey, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Osage Nursing Home in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was born September 19, 1922 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Guy L. Eve and Effie Jane (Yelton) Eve. She was a kindergarten teacher out of her house for sixteen years, and twelve years for the Nowata Public Schools system and did some book keeping for the Title Abstract Company in Nowata, Oklahoma. Ethel graduated from Childers High School where she was valedictorian of her class and attended First United Methodist Church. She married the love of her life, Jack L. Covey, on October 12, 1947 in Nowata, Oklahoma. She was an active member of Rural Neighbors and the Ladies Auxiliary of Nowata, Oklahoma. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Ethel is survived by her son; Roger Covey and his wife Connie of Nowata, Oklahoma; two grandchildren; Matt Schlotfelt and his wife Tera of Oologah, Brant Schlotfelt and Dale Burkett of Plano, Texas and three Great Grandchildren, Banner Schlotfelt, Lenni Schlotfelt, Riggs Schlotfelt and a host of family and friends.

Ethel is preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. Covey; and her parents Guy L. Eve and Effie Jane (Yelton) Eve; two brothers Donald L. Eve and Robert D. Eve.
