Condolence: Dear Stauber Family,
I am so sorry about the loss of Rose. She was an amazing lady and I feel as if I've gotten to know her as I worked on her collection here at the State Historical Society of Missouri. I can't thank your family enough for donating it. As I look through her pictures of America's women wearing the uniform and serving their country I can't help but be in awe of her and them. What questions I longed to ask her about the things she saw and experienced. I am very sad that she is no longer there to ask those questions, but I am so grateful that she will live on in the form of her thousands of photographs and the records she left behind. It has truly been an honor to get to know Rose through her collection. My heart goes out to you with your loss but please know that I will care for her papers and keep her memory alive through what she left behind. Take care and God bless you.
