Obituary for Betty June Weaver

Luginbuel Funeral Home Vinita, 918-256-5555 …….. Betty June Weaver 97 year old resident of Webb City, Missouri passed away December 19, 2017. She was born in Lebanon, Missouri on April 18, 1920; to Charles Otis Scott and Sarah Elizabeth (McCulloch) Scott. Betty graduated from Lebanon High School in 1937 and went to work at HW Scott’s shoe store. In 1938 she married Chester B. Edwards and they made their home in Lebanon. Betty moved to Vinita in 1948 and worked for Craig Goodpastor at the Army Navy store. In 1950 she met and married Estey Weaver. They started numerous businesses together including Weaver Furniture Store and in 1969 she opened Judy Lee Fabrics. They sold their businesses in 1981 and retired to travel and spend time with their family. Betty enjoyed flowers, reading, sewing, spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Chester Edwards and Estey Weaver Jr., two brothers Dennis and Herbert Scott, one son Chester Edwards and daughter-in-law Elise Edwards, one son-in-law Don Freeman and stepson Gary Weaver.
Betty is survived by her three daughters: Babe Skinner and husband Ted of Vinita, Oklahoma, Judy Bradley and husband Robbie of Adair, Oklahoma, and Janet Burns and husband Wilson of Webb City, Missouri. She had twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be 11:00 am Friday December 29, 2017 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita with Pastor Claud Strong officiating. Betty’s family will have a private committal service in Lebanon, Missouri.
