Funeral services for Janet Carol Tatum are 10:00 A.M., Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Dean Bridges officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will be receiving guests from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Benjamin Funeral Service.

Janet Carol Tatum, 74, of Delaware, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at her home in Delaware. She was born February 13, 1943 in Nowata to Roy and Eula (Riley) Woods. She was educated and graduated from the Nowata School System. On August 12, 1961 she married the love of her life William Paul Tatum. Janet loved the outdoors and enjoyed deer hunting, and raised beautiful flower gardens. She loved her cats and would do anything for anyone in need. She made friends with everyone she met. She considered all her son’s friends her sons and was a wonderful mother. She was a very strong woman and fought cancer for one and a half years. Above all, Janet loved her family. She had a special place in her heart for her husband, children, grandchildren, and family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Janet is survived by three children, William Bradley Tatum and his fiancée Edie Mae Jones of Delaware, Oklahoma, Douglas Lee Tatum of Delaware, Oklahoma, Deanna Collins and husband Jim of Talala, Oklahoma; a sister, Marjorie Monroe of Nowata, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Cody Roy Tatum, Joshua Lyle Tatum, Danielle Paulynn Tatum, Kristen Michelle Hunt and her husband Sean, Sara Jane Carter and her husband Justin and seven great grandchildren.

Janet is preceded by her parents, Roy and Eula Woods; her husband William Paul Tatum; a brother, Jack Lee Woods and a sister, Betty Teachman.
