Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma 918-786-2261. Jurl Ray Hickey, 90 year old resident of Bella Vista Arkansas, passed away on December 3, 2017 at Highland Nursing Home.

Jurl was born on February 19, 1927 in Pampa, Texas. He was the son of Henry “Hank” and Louise (Sanders) Hickey. Jurl was part of the Greatest Generation serving in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. After returning from the war, Jurl earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Texas Wesleyan. Jurl worked in sales and marketing for Republic Steel Corporation. In 1971, Jurl married the love of his life, Malinda Hudson in Tulsa, Oklahoma. In his spare time, Jurl enjoyed working with stained glass and reading mystery novels.

Jurl was preceded in death by his parents, his sister; Marjorie Slaughter and her husband Charlie. He will be dearly missed by his wife Malinda Hickey of the home, his daughter Shelley Louise Burton of Deerfield, Illinois, his three grandchildren; Zoe, Riley and Chelsea, and nieces Vicki and Sharon.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 -12:30 pm, at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel just prior to the Graveside services that will start at 1:00 pm at Olympus Cemetery on Wednesday, December 6, 2017.
